How Far Can You Actually Get on an ATV
When planning out your day using an ATV as your mode of transportation, it can be hard to visualize how much time you will actually need to get places. My advice is to double whatever drive time you see on google maps to predict roughly how long it’ll take you to get places on the ATV.
For reference, we started our ATV adventure in Agios Gordios. It took us an hour to get to La Grotta Bar, where we spent a couple of hours enjoying the water, the vibes, and even some cliff diving. From there it took us about 1.5 hours to reach D’Amour beach in the North of Corfu. We spent over an hour there before driving just under 2 hours back to Agios Gordios. This was all accomplished between 10 am and 8 pm in one day and includes the lengthy demonstration we received when we picked up the bike. This should give you an idea of what you can realistically fit into a day when using an ATV as your transportation.
How to Rent an ATV on Corfu
Requirements for Renting an ATV on Corfu
There are not really a ton of requirements for renting an ATV in Corfu. Pretty much anyone can rent an ATV. Although, the specific details can vary between the different rental places.
In the shop that I rented the ATV from, the minimum age to drive was 22 years. But you were able to have someone younger than that riding on the back. I have also seen that there are other rental places on the island that will rent to people aged 18+. It depends on the insurance that the specific company has.
You do not need a driving license to rent an ATV on Corfu. Some rental places may require it and others won’t. The driver will need to leave their passport with the rental place, basically to ensure you don’t run off with the ATV. You also do not need any experience driving an ATV to rent one on Corfu, although it can be useful for feeling more comfortable on the road. The company should give you a full demonstration before you leave the shop, explaining how to use the quad bike and safety rules for the road. Whether you have experience or not, I always recommend paying great attention to these rules and always being on the more cautious side.
Where to Rent an ATV
Most touristy towns in Corfu will have rental shops for ATVs and scooters. They are a popular mode of transportation for tourists on the island. Not all of the shops will have a website to book in advance but here are some:
Agios Georgios: Check out Alexandros Bikes and Car Rentals and Front Runners Motorbike Rentals
Agios Gordios: Agios Gordios Rent a Bike
Corfu Town: My Moto
Kavos: Riders

How Much Does it Cost to Rent an ATV in Corfu?
The cost to rent an ATV in Corfu can range between 30 – 60 euros for the day. For bikes with less power that are used more for whipping around close to the shop, the cost is closer to 30 euros. If you plan to use the quad bike as transportation around Corfu, then you’ll be paying 60 euros for the day.
You will have access to the ATV for the entire day from when the shop opens to when they close. This is typically from about 9 am – 8 pm. However, there are some rental places where you can rent the ATV overnight for multiple days.
In addition to the cost of the ATV rental, you will also have to pay for the fuel to use it. They will give you the bike with close to full gas and you are expected to return it to them with the same amount of gas. The good news is, it is super cheap to fuel an ATV. We paid less than 8 euros for the gas we used for the day.
They will also typically require a deposit to reserve the ATV. You will pay the rest of the cost on the day that you pick up the bike. We paid 20 euros to hold the ATV when we booked it a few days in advance. Like many tourist places in Corfu, there is a good chance you will have to pay with cash for the rental.
How Long Should You Rent An ATV in Corfu For?
An ATV rental in Corfu can be used as a fun day activity or as an actual mode of transportation. How many days you choose to rent the ATV for will depend on how you intend to use it.
If you are using it to get around, then I suggest evaluating how many places you want to use it to get to. I would recommend not budgeting for visiting more than two sights/activities in a single day. Unless the spots are really close together and you don’t intend on spending a ton of time there. You can add double the amount of drive time to what google maps says and figure it out that way too.
If there are only a couple of spots you want to see, then a single day of renting the ATV should be enough. Otherwise, you could also potentially rent one for 2 to 3 days.
ESSENTIAL Things to Look For When Choosing an ATV Rental Shop in Corfu
You don’t want to just assume that a place is reputable when renting an ATV from them. Some things to look out for are:
- It is essential the shop includes insurance for your day(s) renting. Most regular travel insurance won’t cover ATV accidents.
- Make sure the bikes look in good condition
- Make sure they don’t give you too powerful of a bike. The shop we went to had a more powerful bike option available for the day we had originally wanted to rent from them, but they informed us that only experienced drivers can use them because they have too much power. The ones typically rented to tourists are 200 cc.
- Make sure the shop gives you a proper demonstration on how to drive the ATV before you embark. This should include, how the gas and brakes work, the importance of using your signals and mirrors, how to turn around and reverse, and a little test drive.
Tips and Important Things to Know for Driving an ATV Safely Around Corfu
While I recommend ATVs because of how fun and easy they can be to get around Corfu, this is all under the pretense that ATVs can be considered dangerous vehicles. I am not an expert whatsoever and all of this is just what I have experienced with renting ATVs. Here are some tips that I was given for how to handle driving around Corfu:
- Take the training/demonstration they give you at the beginning seriously. Injuries are still a possibility when driving an ATV, so it is important to pay attention and follow the safety advice given to you by the experts.
- Always drive as far to the right of the road as you can.
- Pull over every now and then to let cars by. You don’t have to stop every time a car is driving behind you. If it has been a while without the cars being able to pass and there’s a line forming behind you, then when you find a safe spot, pull over so they can all pass.
- Use your signals. Especially when you are pulling over and stopping.
- Be aware of fast drivers in Corfu
- Use your horn before driving around blind corners
- Give yourself a lot of extra time to get to and from places. You don’t want to find yourself running late and feeling pressured to drive faster than what you are comfortable with.

Is it safe to park outside your rented ATV at night?
I only rented mine by the day instead of keeping them overnight but it definitely appeared safe to do so. I had met a couple people that rented them overnight and never heard of any issues from them. I’d ask the people you are renting from what their thoughts are on this to make extra sure.
All the pages seem to ask drivers license. Any tips?
I would say your best bet will be to head to the closest shop when you arrive and rent one in person. There are many shops that don’t have online booking that didn’t require a license, they just require a passport as insurance that you’ll bring the ATV back.
